Founded in the mid sixties, Giovannetti at once caught international attention with innovative products, perfectly matching the experimental climate of those years when new forms were being created and new ways were being sought to satisfy the growing requirement for relaxing, meeting and communicating.
This philosophy gave birth to a series of products – many designed by Superstudio of Florence – that today may be found in the most prestigious art galleries as well as achieving astonishing prices at international auctions at either Christie’s or Sotheby’s.
In first place, Anfibio (1970), a product conceived as a convertible sofa to fulfil both the functions of a sofa and a bed in a simple and poetic way giving a sensuality and charisma intended by the designers who wished to interpret the popular desires of the past, present and future.
Anfibio enhanced both the commercial growth of the company (more than 31,000 pieces produced) and, moreover, established a strong cultural image, raising it to the heights of Art and Design by a series of awards which made Anfibio a leading representative in the way modern furniture collections are designed and viewed in the new global markets, creating an awareness that opulence and luxury, albeit at a high outlay, are part of verifying a company’s reputation.
40 years of history confirm, without any compromises, the innovative quality and flair of Giovannetti other products such as Ancella, Roly-Poly, Gabbiano, Link, Giramondo, all made with an enthusiastic vitality, and energetic passion to conquer clients’ hearts.
